The first quarter of 2023 was influenced by a combination of complex factors, including the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lunar New Year holiday, and shifts in real estate policies, making it one of the most turbulent three-month periods in recent years.

Nevertheless, the construction formwork market in Q1 maintained its traditionally steady price trend. This stability can be attributed to consistent demand from upstream industries, sufficient production capacity, the reusable nature of formwork, slow inventory clearance, and stable raw material prices. In the long term, construction formwork prices are expected to remain stable for a considerable period.

In December 2022, the Central Economic Work Conference reaffirmed the overarching principle of "prioritizing stability while pursuing progress." The conference emphasized ensuring the stable development of the real estate market, solidly advancing tasks related to "delivering pre-sold housing, ensuring peoples livelihoods, and maintaining stability," and reiterated during the 2023 Two Sessions the focus on "preventing risks, supporting rigid housing demand, and promoting housing upgrades." In the short term, as temperatures gradually rise in the second quarter and construction progresses in infrastructure and real estate projects, the construction formwork market is poised for gradual growth.
