By the end of 2022, there were over 10,800 plywood product manufacturers in China, with a total production capacity of approximately 208 million cubic meters per year. This represents a further decrease of 6.3% compared to the end of 2021. The average production capacity per enterprise was about 19,300 cubic meters per year.

Chinas plywood industry shows a dual decline in both the number of enterprises and total production capacity, while the average production capacity per enterprise experienced slight growth.

At the beginning of 2023, there were nearly 2,000 plywood product manufacturers under construction nationwide, with a combined production capacity of about 26 million cubic meters per year. Except for Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Qinghai, and Tibet, all 25 other provinces and autonomous regions had plywood manufacturers under construction. It is estimated that by the end of 2023, the total production capacity of plywood products nationwide will approach 210 million cubic meters per year.

By the end of 2022, more than 350 plywood product manufacturers in China had an annual production capacity exceeding 100,000 cubic meters. Among them, nearly 150 were large-scale

 manufacturers or enterprise groups, with a combined production capacity of nearly 27 million cubic meters per year, accounting for approximately 13.0% of the total production capacity. Notably, seven of these manufacturers or enterprise groups had an annual production capacity exceeding 500,000 cubic meters.
