According to statistics from the China Forest Products Industry Association, by the end of 2022, there were over 10,800 plywood product manufacturers operating nationwide, distributed across 28 provinces and regions, with a total production capacity of approximately 208 million cubic meters per year.

In recent years, supply-side reforms in the plywood industry have deepened, and efforts to address "small, scattered, disorderly, and polluting" enterprises have continued. The number of enterprises being shut down has shown an upward trend annually. By the end of 2021, a total of more than 20,520 plywood product manufacturers nationwide had been deregistered, had their licenses revoked, or ceased operations.

According to data from the Forest Products Industry Association, in 2021, the national consumption of wood-based panel products reached approximately 318 million cubic meters, marking a year-on-year increase of 7.5% and the third consecutive year of growth. Over the past decade, the average annual growth rate was close to 5.1%, with consumption growth outpacing production growth.
