Recently, China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) released its Business Operations Brief for January–April 2023. According to the announcement, CSCEC accumulated a newly signed contract value of 1.321 trillion yuan in the first four months of 2023, representing a year-on-year increase of 16.7%.


Specifically, the newly signed contract value for construction business reached 1.1666 trillion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 11.6%, while the contract sales value for real estate business amounted to 154.4 billion yuan, surging 78% year-on-year.
In terms of construction business, the newly signed contract values by segment are as follows:
  • Building Construction: 879.1 billion yuan, up 11.6% year-on-year
  • Infrastructure: 281.6 billion yuan, up 11.4% year-on-year
  • Survey and Design: 5.9 billion yuan, up 33% year-on-year
By region, the newly signed contract values for construction business are as follows:
  • Domestic: 1.1326 trillion yuan, up 12.5% year-on-year
  • Overseas: 34 billion yuan, down 10.4% year-on-year
Key physical volume indicators include:
  • Construction Area of Building Projects: 1.44085 billion square meters, up 10.7% year-on-year
  • Newly Commenced Area: 72.36 million square meters, up 8.1% year-on-year
  • Completed Area: 45.47 million square meters

Statistics show that in the first four months, CSCEC signed 76 major projects, each with a contract value exceeding 2 billion yuan, totaling 258.3 billion yuan. Among these 76 significant projects, 53 are building construction projects with a total contract value of 155.91 billion yuan, and 23 are infrastructure projects with a total contract value of 102.39 billion yuan.
